NTUC FairPrice will extend discount programs for one year
SINGAPORE – Seniors from Pioneer and Merdeka Generation will continue to enjoy discounts at NTUC FairPrice for another year until December 31, 2021.
In a press release on Monday, December 28, FairPrice announced it would expand its Pioneer Generation (PG) and Merdeka Generation (MG) rebate programs, which are expected to save seniors more than $ 10 million in savings. .
FairPrice offers three discount initiatives on different days of the week:
Monday – PG reduction program: 3 percent off
Tuesday – Reduction program for seniors: 2 percent off
PG & MG Wednesday Discount Program: 3 percent off
To take advantage of the discounts, shoppers must present their government-provided MG or PG card at the counters of all FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Shop stores, FairPrice Finest outlets and FairPrice Xtra hypermarkets.
At self-service checkouts, shoppers must select the MG or PG discount option. The rebate is subject to a cap of $ 200 per transaction per day.
“We are encouraged that the initiatives continue to receive a strong and positive reception from our senior clients. Last year, FairPrice’s rebate programs helped PG / MG members and seniors save over $ 7.7 million; this year, the rebate programs have saved more than S $ 10 million, ”said Seah Kian Peng, Chief Executive Officer of FairPrice Group.
Since the PG rebate program was introduced in 2014, it has paid out over $ 24 million in rebates to PG members.
In 2020, PG members who purchased from FairPrice saved over $ 4.5 million through the program, while MG members who shopped from FairPrice saved over $ 3.3 million through the program. to the MG discount program. Over the same period, seniors saved over $ 2.2 million.
